The storyteller in me also loves to hear other peoples stories. A good fashion story is always interesting! I am not talking about the usual “Cinderella-moment-kind-of-story,” but even the story behind a dress, a pair of shoes, or an accessory, sparks my interest. When reading fashion blogs, I don’t particularly only look at labels or where an outfit can be bought. I like finding inspiration in someone’s unique style, but I am also curious on how people chose to buy a fashion item. Do you buy for an occasion or something that you just might need it for? Is it to boost your self-esteem perhaps or to make your ex think, “What the hell did I do?” Maybe to look like “I am the boss” at work? I am guilty for buying for all these reasons and when I look at my closet, I like seeing the life I had lived and the stories that relate to my fashion decisions. My outfit for this post is just one example. The story of travel for a summer in Greece and The U.K., where I packed flowy summer dresses, tank tops and shorts in white, blue, and pastel colors; perfect for the 40 degrees Celsius weather in the Greek Isles. From Mykonos, I flew directly to London where I arrived with my hands tucked inside my armpits from the cold. I was welcomed with London’s unpredictable weather. As soon as I checked in, I marched to nearby Regent street and left every store with more clothes piled on me than the previous store! It was my pretty woman moment (no I didn’t get turned down, and I also didn’t have wads of cash!). I did feel like a new woman with every swipe of the card! When all was done, I couldn’t resist taking the outfit up a notch with a felt hat.
The outfit photos were taken in Manila, and I also posted some travel photos in the same dress from London.
