Dress code

Marie Lozano

I may be a slave to fashion, but whenever I get an invitation to a fashion event, I am always left asking, “What will I wear?” Some invites come with a vague dress code such as “fashionably chic.” So basically you are told to wear whatever you want, but make sure you look chic! That doesn’t help that much does it? It just brings you back to the same question on what you should wear. Well, I am guilty of not planning my outfits for most events that is why I always say, “I have nothing to wear” (even with a closet full of clothes with tags still attached). My solution to this dilemma is to stop over thinking it and just wear what I feel like at that moment. Like the day I attended the Manila fashion festival, it was a Saturday and I spent most of the day playing with my 7-year old son. By the time I needed to head to the fashion show, I really had no time to think and just grabbed the easiest thing to wear which were a pair of shorts, and jacket from the H & M conscious collection. I threw in a pair of heels and I was good to go. It was an extension of my fun filled day, and I was glad I felt chic!
